After Nightbirde’s ‘heartbreaking’ death, Simon Cowell pays tribute to her; she was ‘extraordinary.’
Following Jane ‘Nightbirde’ Marczewski’s death, the ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge expressed his sympathies to her family.
On Tuesday, February 22, Simon Cowell, 62, posted on social media about Jane «Nightbirde» Marczewski’s death following a fight with cancer. Following Nightbirde’s death at the age of 31 on Sunday, February 20, America’s Got Talent judge shared a photo of her on Instagram and penned a poignant tribute to the season 16 participant.

Simon spoke about how «heartbreaking» it was to learn of Jane’s passing and how inspirational she was during her cancer battle. «She was a truly remarkable individual, fearless and gifted in equal measure. He wrote, «She had a significant impact on AGT and the world.»
«Her tenacity in the face of this dreadful illness was inspiring. Jane, may you rest in peace. I’m extending my heartfelt condolences to her family.»
Simon’s comment about Nightbirde’s death came after the singer’s family released a video with some of her final words. Nightbirde gave an inspiring presentation about grieving and allowing yourself to be sad in the video.
«Just because you’re sad or grieving doesn’t mean you aren’t appreciative, or that you aren’t hopeful.» It doesn’t mean you aren’t still fighting for your life, or that you don’t have the strength to keep going,» she wrote on Instagram.
Simon penned a touching tribute to Nightbirde, where he said she was ‘extraordinary.’
Aside from the video, Jane’s family released a statement in which they paid tribute to the late artist. «Those who knew her admired her outgoing attitude and witty sense of humour.
«She always had a funny quip for every situation, even if it was a joke on her,» the family added. «Her lasting legacy will be the gift of hope she brought to so many people via her music and the strength she found in Jesus,» says the statement.
In addition to the video, the family has asked that fans donate to the Nightbirde Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers, which is working to establish a memorial foundation to raise money for cancer research and to assist others who cannot afford treatment.
The fundraiser’s description on GoFundMe states, «The revenues from this campaign will be utilized to commemorate Jane’s legacy by allowing her dream and inspiration to reach millions of others.»
