Neve Campbell is a mother to two kids, one biological and the other adopted. Here’s everything you need to know about her lovely kids, Caspian and Raynor.
As she prepares for the debut of Scream, the fifth episode of the renowned horror series that began in 1996, Neve Campbell has carved out an incredible career in Hollywood. Since her role in the Canadian drama Catwalk, the 48-year-old actress has been a fixture in pop culture.
She rapidly became a household name after coming to Los Angeles and starring as Julia Salinger in the teen drama series Party of Five. The eerie picture The Craft, released in 1992, solidified her status as a cinematic star. She became a true scream queen after playing Sidney Prescott in Wes Craven’s Scream. Neve was most recently seen in the films Skyscraper and House of Cards on Netflix.
Her personal life has been equally successful for the Ontario native, who has been in a long-term relationship with actor JJ Feild since 2011. In 2012, the couple welcomed their first child together, son Caspian. Raynor, their son, was adopted six years later. Here’s everything you need to know about Neve’s incredible sons.
In August of 2012, Nev and JJ announced the birth of their son Caspian. Caspian’s parents are notoriously secretive, therefore nothing is known about him. During a July 2018 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the actress did talk about the pregnancy and how they came up with the unusual name.
“We didn’t find out whether he was a girl or a boy while we were pregnant – even though I instinctively knew he was a boy – so we decided we’d bring five boy names and five girl names to the hospital,” she revealed. “I was nine days in labour.” I know, I should’ve gone to the hospital sooner; it was a complete waste of time. Anyway, we got to the hospital, and after nine days, we’d completely forgotten about the list, and it was the only name we could recall.”
During her interview on The Talk, she also discussed how she chose Caspian’s name. “We looked through a lot of literature,” Neve explained, “and I liked the notion of a distinctive name.” “I prefer having a distinctive name – it’s [my mother’s] maiden name, Neve — since it’s not common. It’s good to have something unique and special, and I wanted something similar for our son,” she continued.
In June 2018, Nev disclosed that she and JJ had adopted another son in a rare Instagram post. “Sheer ecstasy!!!!…. So it’s been a secret until now because JJ and I wanted to wait until it was official, but we adopted a gorgeous baby boy five months ago,” the actress said. “His name is Raynor, and he is the love of our lives.” Raynor’s older brother was equally enamoured! “Our 6-year-old son Caspian is overjoyed and asks, ‘Can I hold my baby?’ every morning.” Is it possible for me to feed my baby? Is it okay if I play with my baby?’ Never said, “It’s the most incredible thing we’ve ever experienced.”
Neve appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan around the time the couple welcomed Raynor to talk about his name. “We couldn’t name him Bob,” she said, “since you can’t have Caspian and Bob.” “I like the notion for him since it signifies warrior of judgment or someone who trusts sound judgment.” Little is known about Raynor since the pair is as discreet with him as they are with Caspian, and the family avoids sharing images of the kids on social media.
