Saba Karim, a former Indian wicketkeeper, believes that no franchise will want to rest their stars in the IPL because of the upcoming T20 World Cup. The showcase event’s second phase will begin on September 19, while the T20 World Cup will begin just two days after the IPL concludes.
Due to the close proximity of the two competitions, there is a dispute as to whether the Indian T20 World Cup squad should be rested for a few games.
Saba Karim, on the other hand, argued that no club would want its best players rested because winning the IPL is their primary goal. Saba Karim had this to say on the YouTube channel ‘Khelneeti’:
“Imagine you have a playoff match and you have to rest Bumrah; would the Mumbai Indians do it?” They are not going to do it. No franchise, be it Delhi or RCB, will want to do it.
“They believe that their best players should be 100 percent fit for the games.” Instead, they would rather that the players take a rest while playing international games in order to be fresh for the IPL.”
Don’t think any players will be rested: Saba Karim
Saba No player, according to Karim, will be rested. This indicates that a cricketer will almost certainly get hurt while participating in the IPL. He continued, “In this regard, he added:
“When their players take the field, the franchise owners expect them to be in good shape. However, the window is so busy that I don’t believe the players will be able to rest.”
