Anything for the sake of the family! After fans yelled for Selena at the Met Gala on September 13, Ireland Baldwin felt obligated to defend Hailey and Justin Bieber.
On Monday, September 13, Hailey Baldwin, 24, and Justin Bieber, 27, were verbally abused at the Met Gala. Fans could be heard screaming, “Selena! Selena! Selena!” in support of Justin’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, 29, as the celebrity couple walked the carpet in a video released on the model’s TikTok website.
ICYMI, Ireland Baldwin, 25, defended her cousin, claiming that the two have always been “close,” and HollywoodLife has now revealed EXCLUSIVELY why her cousin felt compelled to speak up.
Ireland shown that she isn’t here for wild fans’ shenanigans. “They’re one of the happiest and most in love couples I’ve ever gotten the chance to be around,” Ireland, daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, quickly defended Hailey when she tweeted the video, which she titled “DISGUSTING.” They don’t give a damn about them.”
“They’re really as close as two cousins can be, and they’re nearly like sisters because they were very much raised together and spend so much time together,” a source tells us now. Ireland has always been extremely protective of Hailey, so she felt obligated to respond to the trolls. Ireland understands that such things don’t concern Hailey and Justin, but she adores them as a pair and has no remorse about what she said.”
While this isn’t the first time the pair has faced trolls and been hounded by fans who are still enraged by Justin’s marriage to the model, it’s hoped to be the last.
“When it comes to the past and Selena, both Justin and Hailey dislike the bullying they receive and value the support above the harsh threats.
They both want that others would have some class to see what is true, which is their connection, as much as they anticipate and expect it,” a second person claimed. “It’s a dreadful situation to be in, but they strive to rise above it every day since they’re continuously assaulted online and when they’re out and about.”
Regardless of the negative press, the model-musician duo will accept any help they can receive and will surely welcome Ireland’s support. “Justin and Hailey were really pleased with Ireland’s assistance. They’re both tired of the nasty comments and the fact that everyone has so much to say about their relationship,” according to a third source. “It meant a lot to them that Ireland stood up for them.”
Regardless all the hostility, the power couple rose above it all and clung to each other for the following event, a screening of Justin Bieber’s documentary, Justin Bieber: Our World. When they stepped onto the carpet, all they could see was each other.
On Sept. 14, the “Peaches” singer cradled her face before giving her a couple tender kisses while strolling the carpet. It was a night full of affection for the couple, proving once again that their love is unstoppable.
