Watch Childish Gambino, Rihanna’s ‘Guava Island’ for free




You don’t have to be at Coachella this week to catch what is going on to most likely be its hottest act: the much-buzzed about unveiling of Childish Gambino and Rihanna’s indie film “Guava Island.”

Amazon Prime will stream the model new flick spearheaded by Gambino, the stage determine of actor Donald Glover, starting Friday merely after midnight — a day after its launch on the desert music pageant.

Don’t sleep on it: The film will solely be obtainable for free on Amazon for 18 hours until 6 p.m. Saturday. Then it’ll mosey over to Twitch and play as quickly as at 8 p.m. jap time Saturday, whereas simulcasting on Coachella’s YouTube Channel.

Glover suggested Vanity Fair that the film, written by his brother Stephen, was impressed by Fernando Meirelles’s Brazilian crime drama “City of God” and Prince’s “Purple Rain.”  In it, Glover performs a neighborhood musician character who seeks to arrange a music pageant for his neighborhood.

Back in November, Glover gave followers a sneak peek all through his third annual three-day PHAROS Festival in New Zealand, the place he screened the two-minute trailer. Fans went nuts on the primary look, which had Glover serenading Rihanna collectively along with his guitar, bathed in golden island delicate. Later, rapid-fire pictures captured Glover working by way of the neighborhood’s streets amid syncopated drumming, dancing and a kidnapping.
