Denverites’ love of nicknaming their neighborhoods is pretty obvious — LoDo, LoHi, RiNo.
So when former City Councilman Albus Brooks posted regarding the Central Business District’s new title, it was solely a matter of time sooner than any individual really helpful a shortened mannequin.
The Downtown Denver Partnership launched its plan for revitalizing what’s typically referred to as the city’s Central Business District Wednesday and launched the new title: Upper Downtown.
In response, any individual tweeted, “Or as the ladies will call it, “Updo.”
The Downtown Denver Partnership, nonetheless, is not going to be backing such a naming effort.
Business leaders have a new imaginative and prescient for the realm from 14th to Broadway and from Champa to Sherman, said Britt Diehl of the Downtown Denver Partnership.
“Part of the plan is to create an identity for the neighborhood,” Diehl said. “We want to go through the entire planning process.”
When requested if UpDo had been thought-about as a nickname to match LoDo, Diehl replied, “No.”
