On Wednesday, September 15, Kenya will face Nigeria in the seventh match of the Uganda T20I Tri-Series, which will be held at the Entebbe Cricket Oval.
Kenya has looked like the best squad in the series by a long shot, led by Shem Ngoche. Kenya is on a three-match winning streak and sits atop the points table after their opening match against Uganda on September 10 was rained out due to weather.
Kenya defeated Nigeria by 61 runs in their previous match on September 13. Kenya set their opponents a mark of 163 to chase after deciding to bat first, thanks to Irfan Karim’s 46-ball 58. With a 24-ball 33, Alex Obanda set the tone for the innings.
Nigeria could only manage 101 for seven in 20 overs in their run chase. Daniel Ajekun, the team’s first batter, led the way with a 38-ball 22. Mohameed Taiwo and Mustapha Yusuf added 36 runs for the seventh wicket, but it was not enough.
Both Vraj Patel and Peter Langat took two wickets. Nigeria has already been eliminated from the competition, and with two games remaining, they would want to finish on a good note. Kenya, on the other side, will be aiming to maintain their lead.
