The 25th anniversary of Steven Spielberg‘s “Schindler’s Checklist” and the 35th anniversary of Brian De Palma‘s “Scarface” will probably be celebrated with reunion screenings on the Tribeca Movie Pageant.
The New York competition introduced Monday that Spielberg will be a part of Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Embeth Davidtz for a post-screening dialog April 26 on the Beacon Theatre. The “Scarface” occasion will reunite De Palma, Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer on April 19 on the Beacon Theatre.
The competition may even host an anniversary screening of 1992’s “Within the Soup,” an acclaimed unbiased movie directed by Alexandre Rockwell. The largely forgotten launch, starring Steve Buscemi and Seymour Cassel, has been restored following a Kickstarter marketing campaign to restore the remaining, broken print.
Additionally slated for on-stage interviews at Tribeca are Bradley Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Spike Lee and Alec Baldwin.
The competition runs April 18-29.
