Tom Brady, 44, Reveals Why He Still Has No Set…

Tom Brady isn’t one to give up. Despite being in his forties, the seven-time Super Bowl champion explains why he isn’t ready to retire just yet.

Tom Brady says in a new story in the WSJ. Magazine’s Men’s Fall Fashion issue, “I don’t want to be out there and suck.” For years, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has been plagued by retirement rumors.

While his peers, such as Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and Drew Brees, have retired from football, Tom still has some gas in the tank, and he knows he’ll retire if he doesn’t. “Do you think I want to go out there and pretend to be 44?” he asks. “I want to appear to be in my prime.”

He tells WSJ. Magazine, “I don’t think anything will ever match my football career.” “I believe that replicating that level of energy, output, and adrenaline is extremely difficult. That’s one of the reasons I want to finish because I don’t want to look back and think, “Man, I could still do it.” When is it going to happen? Tom has no idea.

“I have no idea where that will be. I honestly don’t.” Tom just inked a contract extension with the Buccaneers, guaranteeing him a spot in the lineup until the 2022 season. He says, “Beyond that, I don’t know.” “Perhaps another year will pass; perhaps two. I’ll have to assess my situation with my family. That’s definitely the most important factor—what I’m missing.”

Tom has stated that he intends to retire. When he does, he’ll concentrate on his diverse business portfolio, which includes the TB12 fitness brand, as well as fashion and filmmaking. He says, “I feel like I’m living two lives.”

“I had a football career and then I had a post-football career.” Switching between the two — football and off-field hobbies — is tiring for Tom, but these entrepreneurial ventures are broadening his definition of who he is.

Gisele Bündchen, Tom’s wife, tells WSJ. Magazine, “Tom has accomplished so much in his career, and the world knows him for his passion and devotion to the game of football.” “It’s nice that others are getting to know him as well as I am.”

The seven-time Super Bowl champion may appear to be superhuman, but he isn’t. While hardly everyone lives as Tom does, he acknowledges that “everyday people are seeking for successes professionally.”

They’re seeking for personal victories,” he says. “They’re looking at how to parent in a difficult environment, how to have a successful marriage despite work obligations… That’s how I relate to everyone. It’s absurd to believe I don’t. The truth is that I’m a very human being.”
