Season 2 of the ‘Saved By The Bell’ revival is on the way, and Lark Voorhies can be seen reconnecting with her Bayside co-stars in a new Instagram post.
We didn’t realize we needed this trio until it was too late. On September 21, Elizabeth Berkley came to Instagram to share a photo with a few of her gal pals! Tiffani Thiessen, 47, and Lark Voorhies, 47, both of the Saved By The Bell OG cast, joined Elizabeth in the shot in honor of Season 2 of the SBTB revival.
I’m bright-eyed and eager to go! In the photo, the famed trio appears to be frozen in time. With the greatest caption, Elizabeth listed their location as Bayside High. “Getting to work with these ladies again is really a blessing.
We have a unique past that goes beyond… We put forth a lot of effort as youngsters to create a show that people still like; we went to high school together, and our parents all watched out for us because we were minors at the time. It was a safe environment to grow up in, and now we get to take those wonderful roots and fly as women,” Elizabeth wrote.
“Don’t you simply adore it when you have a connection with someone who has a history and you don’t have to explain anything? It’s so soothing, and we can’t wait to share some of the magic with you when season 2 is out! ” Elizabeth captioned the heartfelt image with #friendsforever #imsoexcited #sbtb #JessieKellyLisa @peacocktv #hotsundae and the hashtags #friendsforever #imsoexcited #sbtb #JessieKellyLisa @peacocktv #hotsundae.
Fans of SBTB were overjoyed to see the girls reunited! With a trio of heart emojis, one admirer added, “Seeing Lark as part of this group and history again nurtures my spirit.” With heart-eyed emojis, another added, “Be still my heart.”
The performers’ strong bond is unsurprising given that they have worked together for many years. “Mark-Paul and I are still friends. During an exclusive interview with HollywoodLife, Tiffani revealed of her costars, “I chat to Elizabeth and Mario.”
“We’re still on the verge of making it! It’s like a strange, sort of unrelated, but brotherly-sisterly relationship. Tiffani noted, “We spent a lot of time together in highly enlightening years that had a tremendous impact on my life.”
The spectacular shot follows Peacock TV’s announcement in January that the revival has been picked up for a second season. The revival takes place approximately 30 years after the original Saved By The Bell series ended in 1993. Tiffani, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario, and Elizabeth played Kelly Kapowski, Zack Morris, A.C. Slater, and Jessie Spano, respectively, in the first season of the revival.
Screech, played by Dustin Diamond, 44, died of stage IV lung cancer on February 1st, but fans may expect a tribute, according to Mario. Mario continues, “I’ve always been okay with him and it would be good to do something to honor him, and I believe that’s in the works.”
When asked about the intricacies of this tribute, Mario said they’re still working out the logistics. He tells HollywoodLife, “There have been various creative concepts floating around.” “I don’t want to throw a spanner in the works for any of them. I’m fine with it as long as it’s done in a classy, sophisticated manner.”
