Mayra Verónica, who dated Sam in 2015, stated that she believed her model ex-boyfriend had struck gold with fiancée Britney Spears!
Mayra Verónica, Britney Spears’ ex-girlfriend, is overjoyed for the model and fiancée Britney Spears, 39, following their recent engagement. “I’m ecstatic, I’m overjoyed for them – he’s finally hit the jackpot!” Mayra, who is best known for the films Pledge This! and Miami Snow, spoke to TMZ outside the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Saturday, Sept. 18. Britney Spears also hit the “jackpot,” according to the 41-year-old.
“She also struck gold — he’s supportive. He’s a very supportive individual. And after everything she’s gone through, she deserves it,” Mayra continued, referring to the pop star’s ongoing court struggle with her father, Jamie Spears, 68, to end her 13-year legal conservatorship.
Mayra was questioned if she thought Sam was dating Britney for the “proper reasons,” and she only had good things to say. “He was such a kind guy. When I met him, I was in a similar situation — my management and publicists were tremendously, exceedingly controlling. She said, “He was always incredibly, super supportive, so I think she’s with the right guy.”
Britney and Sam first met in 2016 when he co-starred in her and Tinashe’s song video “Slumber Party.” The song was one of the lead singles from her Glory album, which was the Mickey Mouse Club alum’s final full-length release. Britney affirmed in recent court testimony that she will not work — including live performances — until her conservatorship is completed.
Sam has been a rock for Britney throughout their five-year relationship, especially during her legal battle. Mayra went on to say that she “hopes” the couple’s relationship “lasts,” but that in Hollywood, it’s “impossible to know.” In the brief interview, she continued, “I hope [it] lasts.” “It’s hard to know in Hollywood…but he’s such a charming, sweet guy, so I hope so for her sake. “I’m hoping it lasts,” she said.
Britney confirmed her engagement to Sam on Instagram moments before the MTV Movie Awards aired on Sunday, September 12! In a short, edited video, the blonde flaunted her circle cut engagement ring while Sam smiled beside her. “I can’t believe it!” exclaims the speaker. In the caption, Britney gushed.
