Regé-Jean Page Plays Coy About A Possible ‘Bridgestone’ Season…

The Duke of Hastings seems to foreshadow a possible return in a new interview, despite his upsetting and stunning departure from the Netflix drama.

Season 2 of the Netflix drama Bridgerton may offer a pleasant surprise to viewers. Regé-Jean Page, 31, played it cool when asked about a possible cameo by his character Simon Basset in a September 1 interview with British GQ, following his unfortunate declaration that he will not be returning to the show in April. He was sassy, but he wouldn’t say whether or not he’d be back in season 2.

Regé-Jean, 31, teased a possibility of showing up in season 2 of ‘Bridgerton.’

The interviewer asked Regé-Jean if he would make a guest appearance after hearing the shocking news that he would be leaving the show. “You know I couldn’t tell you,” he answered, and when pressed further, he delivered a smooth response. “Isn’t there something magical about being startled by something you didn’t expect?”

Regé-Jean did indicate that he is no longer in the show’s group chat, though he did not give a direct answer on whether he will return to the show. “The cosmos has become larger. As a result, I’m no longer a part of it,” he explained. “I exited with dignity. I didn’t want to put them in the embarrassing position of having to evict me.”

Regé-Jean stole fans’ hearts as the Duke of Hastings.

Regé-departure Jean’s was announced in April, and his admirers were devastated! Even celebrities like Kim Kardashian expressed their disappointment that he would not appear in the second season. After the announcement, Kim said that she was “NOT alright.”

Some of the show’s cast members have remarked about the prospect of the Duke of Hastings reappearing in season 2, which is set to premiere in January.

It would be ridiculous to prolong Simon and Daphne’s (Phoebe Dynevor) love story much farther, according to producer Shonda Rhimes.

“I was just delighted by the prospect of being able to tell a whole romantic story with a conclusion, without having to come up with 14 more reasons why the pair can’t be together or, honestly, having Regé stand in the background of someone else’s romance.

In May, she told The Hollywood Reporter, “That doesn’t make sense.” In a June interview with The Wrap, Phoebe said she expected Simon to be “mentioned a lot” during the season.
