Patrick Stewart Reveals His Nsfw Mantra Before Acting And It's…

Patrick Stewart’s pre-performance mantra was revealed on Tuesday’s episode of “The Late Late Show,” and it’s not what you’d expect from a Shakespearean stage actor who’s also appeared in “Star Trek” and “X-Men.” (Here’s a link to a video.)

“You’re all grown-ups, yeah?” Stewart asked the crowd when host James Corden brought up the topic. as though to forewarn them of the words that were about to be spoken.

And he didn’t let us down.

He claimed that he had been giving the directors exactly what they wanted for decades, submitting the identical performance to the theater every night. Then he realized he was performing in front of a new audience every show and that he wasn’t trusting his own instincts.

That’s when he remembered his mantra, which he repeats before movie scenes and appearances on chat programs.

“I repeat to myself out loud, but very, very gently, ‘I don’t give a [BLEEP],’” Stewart explained. It works, James! Since it frees you up because you were confined in what you could do for so many years.”
