Monday Night Football Draftkings Picks: Nfl Dfs Lineup Advice For…

This week’s Monday Night Football features a delicious duel between two playoff-bound AFC West rivals. The Raiders are 3-0, while the Chargers are coming off an upset victory over the Chiefs. The quarterbacks Justin Herbert and Derek Carr, both of whom we have in our DraftKings Showdown team this week, will receive a lot of attention and NFL DFS attention.

It’s no secret that there will be a plethora of appealing wide receivers on the market. Instead of focusing on which of Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, Henry Ruggs III, Bryan Edwards, and Hunter Renfrow emerges as the best option this week, we’re focusing on the quarterbacks — and Darren Waller.

The following is a quick rundown of the score options for DraftKings Showdown contests: There are three-point incentives for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards in full-point PPR formats. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times the regular price, but it also increases a player’s point total by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Raiders-Chargers

$50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team.

Captain (1.5x value, 1.5x points): TE Darren Waller, Raiders ($13,800)

Waller has been rather quiet — by his standards — over the previous two weeks after starting the season with a whopping 19 targets. In each of those games, he saw seven targets, which was still tied for the team lead. Last season, Waller hammered the Chargers for 33 DraftKings points in their Week 15 encounter. We’re going to bet on Waller as the most likely candidate to lead the Raiders in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns on a weekly basis until we’re forced to do otherwise.

FLEX: QB Justin Herbert, Chargers ($11,200)

In two of his three games this season, Herbert has thrown for more than 300 yards. He made up for it with four touchdown passes in the game where he came up short. This clash has the makings of a shootout, with an initial total of 52.5, and we want the head of the Chargers’ snake.

FLEX: QB Derek Carr, Raiders ($10,800)

Carr has passed for two touchdowns in each of the team’s first three games, averaging 401 yards passing per game. Carr and the Raiders are on a roll, and they’ll have a full complement of receivers to choose from. Carr may continue to shoulder more touchdown-scoring responsibilities if running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) is limited — he’s tentatively expected to play.

FLEX: RB Austin Ekeler, Chargers ($9,600)

As a runner or receiver, Ekeler has yet to hit the 100-yard mark, but he has scored using both tactics. He has 50 touches for the Chargers, averaging 5.6 yards per carry, and is someone we intend to rely on in this lineup.

FLEX: K Daniel Carlson, Raiders ($3,800)

The kicking game will benefit greatly from this contest. With three field goal attempts per game, the Raiders are tied for first in the league. Meanwhile, the Charges have allowed 2.3 tries per game, which is tied for seventh most in the league. Carlson won’t have to do much to make his presence felt in a game that is expected to be high on offense.

FLEX: WR Josh Palmer, Chargers ($400)

Making sacrifices and concessions is a big part of life. This is also true in DFS, especially when you want to stack your starting lineup. Perhaps if we ask gently, Palmer will be the recipient of a touchdown or a deep pass. This season, he’s caught all three of his targets and has played at least ten plays in each game. He was a third-round selection who impressed throughout the preseason. As the season goes, he should see more playing time. We’re just crossing our fingers that he can get a taste of that growth this week at a very low price.
