The Giants added a model new pitcher to their rotation.
Drew Pomeranz has agreed to a one-year deal with San Francisco, KNBR reported Wednesday, citing unidentified sources. According to ESPN, the deal is worth $1.5 million.
Pomeranz, 30, might be part of a bunch of starters that in the intervening time accommodates Madison Bumgarner, Dereck Rodriguez, Johnny Cueto, Derek Holland and Jeff Samardzija.
He spent the earlier three seasons with the Red Sox after he was traded to Boston in 2016 by the Padres after making the NL All-Star group that 12 months.
