During their first trip in New York, an eyewitness tells HollywoodLife exclusively that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry appeared to be ‘in love’ and straight out of a fairytale.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrived in Manhattan on Thursday, September 23 for a day of social engagements, including a visit to the United Nations headquarters to meet with US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield. The royals appeared to be “very much in love” while in the city, according to an eyewitness.
“Meghan and Harry spent approximately an hour at an apartment complex in the midtown east neighborhood seeing a UN ambassador,” an eyewitness exclusively told HollywoodLife, adding that the duchess, 40, “looked amazing, like seeing someone out of a fairytale book stroll right in front of you.” “They were quite charming and very much in love,” the person continued. They arrived around 12:45 p.m. and departed at 1:30 p.m.”
Meghan wore a brown overcoat over a black turtleneck and knee-length skirt to the meeting and looked stunning. In a suit, Harry, 37, looked dapper. On Thursday, the ambassador shared a couple photos with the two from her office.
“Wonderful encounter with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Linda captioned the image, “Important conversation of COVID, racial justice, and boosting mental health awareness.”
The couple began their day with a visit to the One World Observatory at the World Trade Center on Thursday, and then met with the ambassador. Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife Chirlane McCray, as well as Governor Kathy Hochul, were present with Meghan and Harry.
During that visit, Meghan wore an all-black ensemble consisting of a turtleneck, trousers, and a coat. It’s unclear if their children Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 3 months, are accompanying them on the trip, but it’s the couple’s first public appearance since their daughter was born.
Meghan and Harry will also visit Global Citizen Live in Central Park on September 25 to “continue their urgent work with world leaders in the pursuit of global vaccination equality,” according to Global Citizen’s website, in order to “stop the COVID-19 epidemic for everyone, everywhere.”
Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, and Billie Eilish are among the celebrities who will be in attendance. The royal couple is said to be staying at The Carlyle, a five-star hotel that was Princess Diana’s favorite in the city.
