Megan Thee Stallion kicked off the Made in America Festival with a bang on Saturday. Megan Pete, or “Savage,” took the stage at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia wearing a sparkly purple lamé bustier and black fishnet tights while performing some of her biggest hits for the crowd. She completed the appearance with a baker boy hat that had the same sequin detailing and colors as the dress.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of JAY-Made Z’s in America, which was launched by the rapper and producer. This weekend, Justin Bieber and Lil Baby will headline the two-day event, which will also feature Doja Cat, Tinashe, Roddy Ricch, and A$AP Ferg. Megan shared a closer look at her outfit (below) on Instagram, which included beautiful hoop earrings and fierce purple nails.
Megan is traveling to BottleRock, Napa Valley’s annual music festival, which also takes place this Labor Day weekend, following her performance on the Made in America stage. BottleRock kicked up on Friday, September 3 with headliner Stevie Nicks and performances by Brandi Carlile, Finneas, and Maren Morris, to name a few. Megan will perform on Sunday’s last day, which will include performances by Black Pumas, Jon Batiste, and Jack Harlow, among others, and will be headlined by Foo Fighters.
Megan was featured in the September/October issue of Essence magazine, where she teased news about her impending sophomore album. The Grammy winner described the new album as a return to her former self, as a follow-up to Good News, which was published in 2020. The “WAP” rapper teased, “I feel like [my upcoming album] will be forceful.” “I have the impression that this project has been meticulously planned.”
Megan continued, “Every time I make a move, I’m like, ‘Okay, how can we be better than Megan last month?'” How can we outperform Megan from last year?’ Megan of this year has already had a successful run: she is one of the leading artists among this year’s MTV Video Music Awards candidates, with six nominations in total, including Artist of the Year, which will screen on September 12.
