Britney Spears took a step closer to freedom on September 29 when a judge removed her estranged father, Jamie, from her conservatorship. The 69-year-old patriarch of the Spears family will be replaced by John Zabel, a certified public accountant. A court hearing has been scheduled for November 12 to discuss the permanent termination of the conservatorship.

Following the revelation, the 39-year-old singer posted a video of herself flying an airplane to Instagram, adding that she was on “cloud 9.” Britney isn’t the only one who is ecstatic. Celebrities and #FreeBritney fans alike, including Cher, La Toya Jackson, Dionne Warwick, and, of course, Britney’s fiancé Sam Asghari, have been applauding the recent development. Take a look at some of the celebrity reactions in the video below.

Of course, the pop star’s fiancé was the first to congratulate him on the good news. “FREE BRITNEY!” Sam posted in Create Mode on his Instagram Story on Wednesday. “CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!” and “CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!”

The pop star has been under conservatorship since 2008, and the suspension is a huge victory for her. Since then, her estranged father has served as conservator of her estate. Britney made her first appearance before the court in June, pleading for the conservatorship to be lifted, saying that her father and the rest of her family “should go to jail.

” The celebrity detailed heartbreaking details about how the conservatorship had stripped her of her basic autonomy over the last 13 years at the highly-publicized hearing, alleging abuse.

Britney claimed, among other things, that she was forced to take medications she didn’t want to take, such as lithium, and that she wasn’t permitted to marry or remove the IUD that had been placed to prevent her from having further children.

She stated, “I simply want my life back.” “It’s been 13 years now. And that’s all there is to it.” She returned to court in July, saying that she wanted her father charged for conservatorship abuse. “It’s a beautiful day for justice,” Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart told audiences outside the courtroom following Jamie’s suspension on Wednesday. [Britney] is overjoyed. We’re all overjoyed.”
