Fans were heartbroken when Zayn Malik left One Direction, and now his former bandmate Liam Payne is making light of the situation on TikTok.
Who can forget Zayn Malik’s game-changing decision to quit One Direction in 2015? Liam Payne, 28, hasn’t — and the “Strip That Down” singer even filmed an epic (and funny) TikTok video to revisit the consequences of Zayn Malik’s departure from the popular boy band.
Liam imitates a meeting between himself and his former bandmates (Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson) with their band management after Zayn quit the group in the Sept. 6 film, which can be viewed below.
Liam appears precisely in rhythm in the film as he mouths the sounds of a befuddled man yelling, “Are we definitely sure what direction we’re going?” He also added a description to the video that reads, “POV the meeting after Zayn quit.” I completely forgot I had this in draft.” “#sunshine forgot I made this a while ago hope you see the funny side,” the British superstar wrote in the video’s title.

Zayn quit One Direction in March 2015, five years after they formed on the UK version of The X-Factor, as One Direction fans will tragically never forget. Liam, Harry, Niall, and Louis stayed together as a quartet for one more album, Made in the Am, before deciding to take an indefinite pause and pursue individual careers. Since then, Liam has released one EP, First Time, in 2018, as well as one studio album, LP1, in December 2019. In 2017, his track “Strip That Down” was a tremendous smash, peaking at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
Former members of the band have been candid about how there are no bitter feelings between them after the band disbanded. In fact, during a phone call with Harry in June 2021, Liam indicated in an Instagram Live session that the trio might reunite if he had his way.
He said, “I’d love for us to get in a room at some point.” “I believe that is the best option. Outside, we’ve all said it; we simply haven’t said it to each other. There’s a tune somewhere in there. Someone take a note of that!”
