LeBron James has four NBA championship rings, and his biggest supporter has stood by his side the entire time! Get to know Savannah Brinson, his wife.
Even if you’ve never seen or touched a basketball in your life, you’ve heard about LeBron James. Despite being probably the greatest basketball player of all time (don’t come for us, Michael Jordan fans! ), the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is involved in a variety of projects, including television shows, movies, fashion, and more.
1. LeBron & Savannah are high-school sweethearts.
They met as children while growing up in Akron, Ohio, and began dating at the age of 16. What happened on their first date? — Savannah said in an interview with Harpers Bazaar that the two had dinner at Outback Steakhouse.
She left her leftovers in his car after their first date, and LeBron later returned them to her. She explained, “I think he just needed another excuse to come see me.” In 2004, they went to prom together, and Savannah posted an incredible throwback to Instagram.
On New Year’s Eve in 2011, LeBron proposed to Savannah at a party that also served as his 27th birthday celebration in South Beach, Miami, where he was residing at the time while playing for the Heat.
Before they married on September 14, 2013, LBJ and Savannah had been together for a total of twelve years. According to Deadspin, the opulent wedding included a performance by Beyonce and Jay-Z of “Crazy in Love,” as well as a star-studded guest list that included LBJ’s best friend Dwyane Wade and others.
2. She’s the mother of LeBron’s three children.
On October 6, 2004, Savannah gave birth to LeBron Jr. (Bronny), and on June 14, 2007, Savannah gave birth to Bryce Maximus, the couple’s second son. Before they married, they welcomed both boys. After the wedding, LeBron and Savannah had their third child, a daughter. On October 22, 2014, Zhuri was born.
During Savannah’s senior year of high school, she became pregnant with the couple’s first child, Bronny. In the aforementioned interview with Harpers Bazaar, she said, “I was quite afraid.” “I was in tears. ‘It’s not going to slow me down, and it’s not going to slow you down,’ he continued. ‘We’ll keep doing what we’ve got to do.’
3. Savannah is an entrepreneur & passionate philanthropist.
Savannah created “The Juice Spot” in December of 2013, and despite the fact that it was always packed, she shuttered it in January 2016 due to her hectic travel schedule. She formerly worked on the American Signature label Home Court by LeBron James.
Savannah is the founder of the “I PROMise Makeover” event, which gives disadvantaged girls prom outfits. “I can’t image being in their circumstance and not having someone help,” Savannah told USA Today during her third year of the program.
“I am very concerned. “Helping people is in my soul, and this is the first baby that has resulted from it,” she said, adding, “There comes a time when you have to give back.” The LeBron James Family Foundation has also given $41 million to University of Akron students in the form of scholarships.
4. Savannah is the inspiration for a character in ‘Space Jam 2’.
Savannah does not appear in Space Jam: A New Legacy with her husband, but she is the idea for one of the characters in the sequel film. In the 2021 film, Sonequa Martin-Greece plays Kamiyah James, a fictionalized version of Savannah. Sonequa Martin-Green spoke to Den of Greek before the film’s release on how she portrayed Savannah and her marriage to LeBron James in her role.
The actresses remarked, “I just enjoy that you see very clearly that these two have a very beautiful partnership.” “They co-parent beautifully and successfully in their family. I adore the fact that the family’s achievement would be impossible without Kamiyah. This iteration introduces a new family dynamic, as well as the family as the story’s central character. It was fantastic.
It impacted me so much, and I truly believe it is a tribute to the real James family and Savannah, Queen James herself.” Savannah also showed her support for LeBron at the red carpet screening of Space Jam 2 in Los Angeles on July 12, 2021. At the star-studded celebration, the couple was joined by their daughter Zhuri.
5. Savannah is the ‘boss’ of the James household.
In a joint interview the couple did with Vogue in 2017, LeBron acknowledged his wife to be the head of the household. He explained, “It’s hard for me to go on the road for two and a half weeks and then come home and tell my kids, ‘Look, this is how it should be done,’ when she’s been home every day.”
