Fans of ‘L&O,’ this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. On ‘Organized Crime,’ the contents of Elliot’s letter to Olivia were disclosed, but there’s a significant twist that no one expected coming.
Since he gave it over to Olivia at the start of SVU season 22, viewers of Law & Order: SVU and Organized Crime have been curious about what’s in Elliot’s letter to Olivia. Following his return to New York City and Kathy’s untimely death, Elliot gave Olivia the letter, but they haven’t spoken about it since. Until now, that is.
Elliot is drugged while undercover in the September 30 episode of Organized Crime. He knocks on Olivia’s door and requests that she let him in. Elliot mumbles, “We never chatted.” “We never discussed what happened…” He’s referring to the events that transpired between them.
Olivia believes they can talk about it later. She’s curious as to what he ate.
“I didn’t write the letter,” Elliot admits to Olivia, who is taken aback. He explains that Kathy was the one who authored it. Olivia will have to take a seat for this. Elliot acknowledges, “It was her idea.” Kathy felt the letter would make it “easier to converse when we see one other after such a long period,” according to him.
Elliot attempted to compose it himself, but Kathy assisted him. “What we were to one other was never real,” the letter said, adding that “we got in the way of each other being who and where we needed to be.” “That was Kathy,” Elliot says.
“If there was a man in my life, you hope he’s the nice, faithful, devoted man that I deserved,” Olivia continues from memory. Kathy had said the same thing.
“In a parallel universe…” says the narrator. “It will always be you and I,” Olivia says before Elliot adds. Elliot then confesses that he wrote that section. He informs her, “I slipped it in before sealing the envelope.”
He’s on the verge of collapsing, but Olivia is there to save him. He tenderly strokes her head with his hand. He’s at Bell’s apartment when he wakes up. For the rest of the show, Olivia and Elliot don’t pick up where they left off, but their conversation is far from over. On NBC, Law & Order: SVU and Organized Crime both air on Thursdays.
