Kristin Chenoweth Surprises Crowd At Reopening Of ‘Wicked’ On Broadway:…

When the musical reopened after an 18-month hiatus, Kristin Chenoweth, who starred in the original Broadway version of “Wicked,” made a surprise cameo.

Kristin Chenoweth is rejoicing about Broadway’s return! Following an 18-month break due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the singer, 53, made a surprise appearance at Wicked’s reopening night. On September 14, she told a roaring throng, “There’s no place like home.” Kristin looked stunning in ruby slippers and a silver little dress, like she did in the original cast of the production when she played Glinda.

Did it hurt? When @KChenoweth came out in stage at the Gershwin Theater and your soul left your body 😭💚

Before the curtain went up, she gave a brief remark and received a standing ovation as she exited the stage. When the first song began to play, Glinda walked on stage and said, “It’s lovely to see you, isn’t it?” The show was the first since Broadway was shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020. The Great White Way, on the other hand, is now open again, with most musicals and plays set to reopen in the coming weeks.

Kristin’s most recent appearance on a Broadway stage was in November 2019 during a live music event. In September of same year, she released her album For The Girls and starred in a performance of the same name at the Nederlander Theater.

She discussed her dramatic comeback with HollywoodLife at the time. She explained, “We’re putting the jigsaw pieces together in a different way than I would for a record because it’s not the same.” “I’ve never performed many of these songs live.

That is, in front of a live audience. The evening will be enjoyable, and you may be required to perform songs that are not on the album. I want people to leave the theater knowing a little bit more about me. And it’s all thanks to music.”

She’ll also be seen in the upcoming Apple TV+ musical comedy Schmigadoon! “I was ecstatic to be given the opportunity to play this part. In a recent interview with HollywoodLife, Kristin revealed, “Barry Sonnenfeld said he was going to let me play against type, and I knew what I wanted Mildred to be.” “I required the insane lips of the ‘Joker,’ Mildred Pierce hair, and the too-tight corset, and he let me have it.”
