When it comes to Kim Kardashian’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ hosting debut on Oct. 9, a source tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY that ‘no joke is off the table.’
Kim Kardashian, 40, will make her debut on Saturday Night Live in just one day. The creator of SKIMS becomes the first-ever reality personality to host the show, and HollywoodLife has discovered EXCLUSIVELY that no jokes are off the table!
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians actress is used to being in the spotlight, so hosting SNL should be easy for her — but a source says that may not be the case.
“Kim is apprehensive about performing on Saturday Night Live because she wants to give it her all. “She wants to prove to herself and any detractors that being asked to do the show was worth it,” a source tells HL.
Of course, Kim and her family have been the brunt of SNL jokes for years, and now the reality star will have the opportunity to join in the fun, possibly with her beloved family. “One thing she’s done to put the actors at ease is to tell them that any concept is a good idea, that they can present her with anything, that she’s happy to make fun of herself, and that nothing is off-limits.” She wants the best idea to win, and she wants the show to be as entertaining as possible. She’s fine with them making fun of her family and having some family members on the show.”
The KKW Beauty creator will be the first Kardashian-Jenner to host the comedic sketch program, which has long been a goal of Kim’s, and everyone is gearing up for it. “When it comes to Kim’s family being a part of the show, all hands are on deck, and ideas have been tossed around.” “Another idea that has been considered is a digital short and a Keeping Up with the Kardashians spoof,” according to our insider. “The majority of the show has already been written.
However, as is customary for SNL, they keep making modifications and adding new skits right up until and after rehearsals. Kim’s sisters and mother, on the other hand, have her back and are ready to assist her in whatever act this weekend, and Kim is game.”
We know the program will be a riot, no matter how it comes together — especially given the hilarious promos that were released on Oct. 7. Cecily Strong asks Kim whether she’s “nervous” about doing sketch comedy for the first time in one of the previews. “Why?
Isn’t it true that I don’t have to draw sketches?” “No,” Cecily says in response to Kim’s question. “[Do I have to] memorize lines?” Kim asks. “No, they’re on cue cards,” Halsey assures her. “Everyone won’t look as good as me, will they?” is the most essential question of all. “No, certainly not!” Cecily insists. Kim is now convinced that the task will be “very simple.”
The much-anticipated episode will premiere on October 9th, with Halsey as the musical guest. Other celebrity presenters for Season 47 include Owen Wilson, Rami Malek, and Jason Sudeikis, according to NBC’s announcement on September 22.
