For her appearance at NYFW, Kim Kardashian copied husband Kanye West’s new “Donda” style, completely covering her face with a zip-up leather mask.
Is that you, Kim Kardashian? On Saturday, Sept. 11, the 40-year-old KKW Beauty creator arrived at New York Fashion Week in a weird leather suit.
Kim wore a leather face mask that covered her entire head, which matched the rest of her black Matrix-inspired ensemble, which included a tied trench coat, leather trousers, and high heeled heels, as well as a rhinestone “Hourglass” handbag. As she departed a vehicle and entered the Ritz Carlton Hotel, she kept her head tilted down.
The reality star appeared to be arriving in New York just in time for the 2021 Met Gala, which is set to take place at the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, Sept. 13.
Kim was accompanied by her older sister Kourtney Kardashian, 42, and her 45-year-old boyfriend Travis Barker. Due to COVID-19, the Poosh founder and Blink 182 drummer wore black, twinning in emo hoodies and leggings, as well as wearing protective face masks.
Kim has recently become a Balenciaga inspiration, thanks to her ex-husband Kanye West’s collaboration with the brand’s chief designer Demna Gvasalia. Demna recently partnered with the Yeezy designer on his three recent Donda listening parties, with the Georgian native serving as the event’s creative director for visuals.
Kanye and Kim both wore Balenciaga for the Atlanta performances as well as the final one in Chicago. Kim posted a selfie of herself wearing an all-black catsuit with a full covering to Instagram on Aug. 8, while Kanye wore a similar look backstage for his show.
Kim also turned heads in a Balenciaga bridal gown for the last show in Kanye’s hometown of Chicago, in addition to her sultry black ensemble. Kim’s participation was the first of the shows in which she really took part, leading to suspicion that she and Kanye were working on their relationship and calling off their divorce. North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, are the couple’s four children. They married in 2014 and have four children together: North, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.
