Kerala Blasters Have Signed Croatian Defender marko...

Marko Leskovic, a Croatian defender, has joined Kerala Blasters ahead of the 2021-22 Indian Super League (ISL) season. From GNK Dinamo Zagreb, the 30-year-old joins the south Indian side.

Leskovic is a versatile defender who has mostly played in the center of the field. He does, however, have previous experience as a central defensive midfielder. In Croatian top-flight football, Leskovic has made over 150 appearances.

From Under-18 to Under-21, the defender has been a member of the Croatian national team. He made his senior international debut in 2014 and has since received four caps, the most recent of which came in March 2017 against Estonia.

Kerala Blasters sporting director delighted with Leskovic’s signing

Kerala Blasters FC’s sports director, Karolis Skinkys, was overjoyed with the new addition. In this regard, he stated:

“Lekovi is a high-level defender who has joined Kerala Blasters with a strong desire to succeed. I’m relieved that we’ve signed this agreement and completed the recruiting process for the upcoming season. This season, I wish Marko the best of luck.”

The Croatian defender’s arrival has helped the Blasters meet their foreign player quota for the next ISL season. Leskovic is scheduled to join the team in Kolkata for the Durand Cup, which is currently underway. The defender expressed his delight at the prospect of joining the new team, saying:

“I’m excited to visit Kerala Blasters. We face many obstacles ahead of us, but my motive for joining this fantastic club is obvious – I can’t wait to start winning with you.”

This will be the defender’s 12th senior professional season. He’s a seasoned campaigner now, and he’ll be a valuable addition to the Blasters’ defense.

Leskovic is also a good passer and will assist the ISL side in building from the back. Kerala might benefit from his heading abilities in the box while attacking corners and other set-pieces.
