Kelly Clarkson now owns the Montana ranch where her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, has been residing since their divorce.

Kelly Clarkson, 39, just got some good news in her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, 44, about who gets to keep the Montana property.

According to court records obtained by HollywoodLife on Tuesday, October 5, a Los Angeles judge ruled on Friday, October 1 that the “Because Of You” singer will retain complete legal possession of the ranch instead of her former husband. Kelly has won again again!

Brandon, who has been renting the ranch for $81,000 a month during the divorce, tried to argue that it was “marital property” that should be split 50/50 between him and Kelly. The property, however, is protected under the former couple’s prenuptial agreement and belongs completely to Kelly because she bought it with her own money, according to the judge.

“The Court thus rejects Respondent’s contention that the Montana ranch and other Montana properties are marital property owned 50/50 by the Parties,” according to the documents. In other words, whatever homes Kelly has purchased with her own money, including the Montana ranch, are legally hers. Brandon has been living at the ranch while Kelly has been in Los Angeles with their two children, River, 7, and Remington, 5, but he will most likely have to leave due to a recent legal judgment.

Kelly previously won a legal battle over the ranch in August, when a judge ruled that Brandon, not The Voice judge, would be responsible for the property’s bills. Kelly was proclaimed legally single by a judge who signed off on the “legal divorce” of her marriage to Brandon in the same month. After seven years of marriage, Kelly filed for divorce from the talent manager in June 2020, alleging irreconcilable differences.

Kelly was granted primary custody of the exes’ two children in November 2020. Kelly must pay her ex-husband about $200,000 per month in combined child and spousal maintenance, according to previous legal orders. Brandon had originally demanded $436,0000 per month in fees from Kelly, but the figure was eventually reduced by more than half by a judge.
