According to Us Weekly, the Flight Attendant star, 35, filed the application in the Superior Court of California for the county of Los Angeles on the same day that the couple announced their split.
In a statement to Us Weekly on Friday, the Big Bang Theory star and Cook, 30, said, “Despite a profound love and respect for one another, we have discovered that our present paths have taken us in divergent ways.”
“We’ve both discussed so much of our journey publicly, and while we’d like to keep this portion of our personal lives private, we wanted to be honest with each other. On the contrary, there is no resentment or animosity.”
“We made this choice jointly out of an enormous amount of respect and consideration for one another, and we request that you do the same in knowing that we will not be releasing any other details or commenting further,” the estranged pair wrote.
The equestrian and the 8 Simple Rules alum started dating in 2016 and announced their engagement a year later. In June 2018, they married in San Diego, California.
In June, months before announcing their breakup, the couple sent a touching homage to one other on Instagram for their third wedding anniversary.
“We met on June 30th, 2016, in New York City. We got married two years ago today, and we’ve already been married for three years!” At the time, Cuoco captioned a black-and-white photo of herself with Cook. “How come you’ve been married to me for such a long time?! I’m blown away @mrtankcook lol I adore you so much you have no idea… “Congratulations on your anniversary!!!
Cook, for one, sent a personal note to the Golden Globe nominee. “I agree, @kaleycuoco,” says the actress. I’m as surprised as you are… He added, “Three years feels like a flash,” accompanying a playful snapshot of Cuoco. “I adore you and can’t wait to be with you for a million more years!!”
After two weeks, the couple decided to get a dog together. “You know when you know!” In July, the creator of Yes, Norman Productions shared a photo on Instagram. “Welcome to the family, Larry!” says the mother. We are infatuated with him, a 9-year-old giant mastiff chunk mongrel of love.
Thank you, @pawsforlifek9 and @rita earl blackwell, for making our lives complete. #adoptdontshop #rescuedog #seniorsunday (Thank you also to his previous foster families for taking such good care of him!)”
Cuoco, who was previously married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016, talked about her atypical marriage with Cook when they moved in together in 2020 during the coronavirus outbreak.
During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April 2020, she stated, “We’ve been married for a year and a half, we’ve been together for almost four years, and this quarantine has pushed us to actually move in together.” “It’s been fantastic for our relationship, and we’ve learned how much we like each other, which is even better.”
