John Zabel: 5 Things To Know About Britney Spears’ Potential…

Britney Spears’ lawyer has nominated John Zabel, a CPA and business owner, to temporarily take over as conservator of the singer’s estate from Jamie Spears.

Britney Spears, 39, has set her sights on a new candidate to serve as her estate’s temporary conservator. The singer and her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, are battling to have Jamie Spears, 69, removed as conservator of Brit’s estate and replaced with a temporary replacement until the conservatorship is completely dissolved.

According to The New York Times, they had earlier chosen licensed CPA Jason Rubin as their candidate for the position, but on Sept. 23, Rosengart withdrew Jason’s nomination and urged that John Zabel replace Jamie and temporarily oversee Britney’s finances and estate instead.

Britney’s conservatorship will most likely be decided at her next court session on September 29, which is set for September 29. There’s a chance John will be appointed as the Grammy-winning singer’s interim conservator of her estate. Here are the five most important facts to know about John Zabel.

Britney Spears

1. John owns his own company

John’s qualifications are extensive, beginning with his role as the proprietor of Media Finance Structures, LLC (MFS). John has owned the company since March 2002, according to his LikedIn page.

According to its website, MFS provides “financial or operational administration of entertainment projects,” and it has worked with big companies such as Sony, Lionsgate, Parmount, CBS Films, and others. “John Zabel brings over three decades of industry experience to MFS, and is devoted to delivering unrivaled customer service and targeted, tangible results,” the business claims of John.

2. He’s a licensed CPA

John, like Jason, is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. During his undergraduate years at CSU Long Beach in the early 1980s, he majored in accounting, and then graduated from UCLA’s Executive Management Program in 1990. Because the conservator of Britney’s estate will be in charge of her finances, a CPA is the best candidate for the job.

3. He used to work as an Auditor

According to John’s LinkedIn page, his first major accounting job was as a Senior Auditor with Arthur Young & Co. From 1981 until 1984, he served in that capacity. From 1981 until 1984, John worked as a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young.

Following his departure from Ernst & Young, John accepted a position as Senior Vice President at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Sony Pictures Entertainment has a revenue of $9.316 billion and is based in Culver City, California. It is part of Sony Pictures, which is one of the United States’ “Big Five” major film studios.

John worked for Sony for a short time, from May 1984 to March 1995, before moving on to Mandalay Entertainment as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from March 1995 to March 2002. Following that, he founded MFS.

5. He will have big responsibilities if he becomes Britney’s conservator.

If John is named conservator of Britney’s inheritance, he may be facing his most difficult duty yet. Jamie has been in that position for nearly 13 years, but he has agreed to resign in the wake of the #FreeBritneyMovement.

Jodi Montgomery, Britney’s personal conservator, has also agreed to dissolve Britney’s conservatorship. If John takes over as Jamie’s manager, he’ll have complete control over the singer’s finances and estate. All of this is expected to be decided at the highly anticipated court hearing on Sept. 29.
