On the 20th anniversary of Alias, Jennifer Garner gave us all the feels in a heartwarming homage to her cast and crew!
Jennifer Garner recently celebrated a significant milestone with the cast and crew of the smash drama that catapulted her to fame.
On Thursday, September 30, the veteran TV and film actress posted a moving TikTok video on Instagram, showing the cast of the spy action thriller Alias reuniting at a home party. The reunion was held to mark the show’s 20th anniversary, which aired on ABC in 2001. Take a look at the video HERE, but be prepared to cry!
“Twenty years ago this week, tonight in fact, #Alias premiered on @abcnetwork for the first time,” the rom-com queen began her caption. “If you’re a @jjabramsofficial concept, you’re a huge one; JJ’s bold imagination pushed every department on the Alias team beyond and beyond the usual, and it was so much fun.”
Some well-known actors, such as Victor Garber from Titanic and Melissa George from Grey’s Anatomy, had leading parts on the show. Who can forget a young Bradley Cooper in the role of Will Tippin in the series? J.J.
Abrams, a master science fiction filmmaker and television producer, produced Alias, a blockbuster television program that lasted five seasons and ended on May 22, 2006. Jennifer played Sydney Bristowe, a double agent for the CIA who poses as an operative for SD6, a global criminal and espionage organization. Jennifer earned a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award for Best Actress for her role in the series, which won three Emmy awards.
Despite the fact that the reunion celebration was attended by a large number of former cast members, not everyone, including the show’s creator, was able to attend. Jennifer said, “We missed everyone who was working and couldn’t make it in.”
Jabrams, we’ve missed you (because I screwed up and made this happen on a night you were busy). But, wow, it was so nice to see each other again.” Those that did go, such as Victor Garber, Gina Torres, Merrin Dungey, and Kevin Weisman, appeared to have a great time. The entire group has arrived (nearly)!
Many of the cast members of Alias have gone on to have successful careers since the show ended. Gina, who played Anna Espinosa on the show, went on to star in films and television shows like Serenity (2005), Firefly (2002-2003), The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions, among others (both 2003). Michael Vartan, who played Michael Vaughn, went on to star in other romantic comedies, including Monster-in-Law, in which he starred with Jane Fonda and Jennifer Lopez. Is it even necessary to say it?
Jennifer Garner made a name for herself in the rom-com industry with films like 13 Going on 30 and Valentine’s Day, while Bradley Cooper, the “Sexiest Man Alive,” went on to win Academy Awards for films like Silver Linings Playbook and A Star is Born, which he also directed. It appears like the kids are doing well these days!
