In the new dance bop ‘River,’ The Knocks team up with Parson James for ‘An Ode To The End Of Summer.’

Electronic music duo The Knocks infuse a touch of ‘hopefulness for what’s ahead’ in their new single with Parson James, with summer firmly in their rearview.

The temps in North America are beginning to feel a little more like Autumn. While the southern United States continues to experience temperatures in the 80s and 90s, The Knocks are ready to chill things down with their new song.

The EDM pair present “River,” a calm and refreshing dance track that will make you want to take a “swim” on the dance floor, with the sweet vocals of singer Parson James. “River” is a splash of warmth and excitement for the ears, with a chorus that encourages you to “keep your head above water” and a production that feels as uplifting as a pleasant raft ride down a twisting stream.

The Knocks told HollywoodLife, “We started this song back in quarantine confinement, and the initial idea was sample-based.” “Kind of a warm, soft track with a pleasant atmosphere. After taking a break from it for a few months, we came back to it and were inspired to change gears and make it into something more vibrant and lively. The idea was then passed on to Parson, who breathed new life into it with his great vocals and personal tale. “‘River’ is a love letter to the end of summer and the promise of what lies ahead.”

What does the future hold for The Knocks? Based on their previous work, one should expect a lot of amazing songs. It would be an understatement to say that The Knocks (Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “Mr. JPatt” Patterson) have been active in 2021.

The band has released three singles: “R U High,” “Bedroom Eyes,” and “Sound The Alarm,” which features River Cuomo of Weezer and singer-songwriter Royal & The Serpent.

The team have remixed songs by Leah Kate (“F-ck Up The Friendship”), The Maine (“Sticky”), and Thunder Jackson (“Colors”), among others. Holiday87 collaborated with The Knocks on both the Daybreak EP and Holiday87’s collaboration with Minke (“Sweet Nothings”).

The duo also collaborated on the Melody & Silence EP with Foster The People, as well as a compilation of “Fireworks” remixes with Purple Disco Machine and Moss Kena. This prolific streak does not appear to be coming to an end anytime soon, which is great news. That means The Knocks will release even more music in 2022, assuring that there will be an ode not just for summer, but also for spring, fall, winter, and all future seasons.
