It’s a family affair! Drew Barrymore and her ex-husband reunited to take their girls to see “Hamilton,” proving there is no bad blood between them.
Drew Barrymore, 46, was all smiles while out with his family for a night out. With their two kids Olive, 8, and Frankie, 7, the actress reunited with her ex-husband Will Kopelman, 43, on September 15 to watch the Broadway phenomenon Hamilton. In the freshly released images, which you can see here, they also brought along his new wife, Vogue Director Alexandra Michler, and the mixed family seemed as happy as ever!
The Drew Barrymore Show host recently claimed she shed 20 pounds and looked as stylish as ever while leading her daughter Frankie, seven, by the hand in a long navy coat and pristine white top coupled with black stiletto boots. Frankie appeared to be wearing the same navy outfit as her mother.
Alexandra took turns holding Olive’s hand while strolling for the duration of the outing. The fashionista looks to have put her stylistic ideas to good use for the show, wearing a long orange maxi dress with cap sleeves, a ruched top, and a long skirt. While out on the town with the kids, the blended family appeared to be as happy as can be.
Drew and Will married in 2012 and divorced in April of the following year. While the actress revealed that their divorce was “very difficult,” she was “overjoyed” when Will and Alexandra announced their engagement, even calling the fashion editor “amazing.”
During a February appearance on The Howard Stern Show, she remarked, “I’m delighted to tell he recently got engaged to this great woman named Allie, who I am probably president of her fan club.” “The #NoEvilStepmother is the most wonderful gift I could have received. She is simply amazing. I’d like for him to be content.”
Will isn’t the only one she wishes was happy. Drew opened up to discuss her thoughts on having a blended family during an October 2020 appearance on Sunday’s Today with Willie Geist, according to Entertainment Tonight. Her daughters, of course, mean the world to her, and while she is notoriously private when it comes to her children, Drew opened up to discuss her thoughts on having a blended family during an October 2020 appearance on Sunday’s Today with Willie Geist, according to Entertainment Tonight. “The good news is that his family and I have made the most critical decision to remain so close and connected. That’s what they call family, I suppose.”
“Having grown up without any kind of family, I knew that was the last thing I wanted to do for my daughters. She said, “I guess that’s why I took it so hard.” “It was like, ugh, the ultimate promise I wanted to make to you and for you was to have this great family, and I found them, but something isn’t working, and it’s not livable. Isn’t that tragic?”
Overall, the “Charlie’s Angels” star is pleased with how her girls have handled the divorce, calling them “really okay with things.” “It’s remarkable that my kids and I are happy because there have been times when I’ve wondered if we’ll ever be happy, and we are. As a result, I’m choked up. My daughters are content. I’m content.”
