On the Jan. 9 episode of ‘Sister Wives,’ Christine Brown acknowledged that things were not going well at home as she celebrated Thanksgiving apart from Kody Brown.

On the Jan. 9 episode of Sister Wives, Christine Brown travelled to Utah to celebrate Thanksgiving with her daughter, Aspyn, and Aspyn’s husband, Mitch. Christine and her children decided they didn’t want to follow Kody Brown’s rigorous COVID-19 holiday guidelines, so they chose to spend the holiday away from the rest of the family. Janelle Brown and her children followed suit, while Robyn Brown and Meri Brown followed the script and spent Thanksgiving with Kody.

COVID discussions have been a significant focus of the show this season, and they continued to develop a rift between Kody and Christine this week. Christine added, «I’m sorry, but having Kody come over for a few hours a week isn’t enough to make our stay here [and observe all the rules] simply for that.» «It’s not going to be worth it.» ‘I don’t think you should go anyplace,’ he says. ‘I am,’ I say.

Aspyn stated that she wouldn’t be able to follow Kody’s pre-holiday guidelines, which Christine discussed with her. Christine recalled, «[She] called me right away in tears.» «‘I can’t follow these rules,’ she says. It’s unthinkable.’ ‘It’s ridiculous,’ she said because she couldn’t come for Christmas.

I am unable to see my family. So I’m counting on you to join us for Thanksgiving.» Christine also stated that she chose to spend Thanksgiving away from Kody for the sake of her children, not for herself.

Christine had no doubts about her decision once she arrived in Utah. She said, «We’re just having so much fun.» «It’s really nice and peaceful.» This is something I could easily get used to. I believe that part of the reason it’s so calm and easygoing and enjoyable is that things at home are so stressful. At home, things aren’t going well.

Part of the reason Thanksgiving is so enjoyable for me is that I can leave all of my worries behind and relax. The most important relationship in my life is the one I have with my children. I’m glad I had the opportunity to see them this year. «I’m pleased I didn’t let COVID have complete influence over my life.»

In this season of Sister Wives, disagreements over the coronavirus were just one of the challenges that Kody and Christine had to deal with. The episode was shot in the fall of 2020, only a year before the couple announced their divorce after more than two decades of marriage.
