The Chiefs have had a nightmare of a primetime game on Sunday Night Football, with a big halftime deficit quickly followed by an injury to Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
CEH has suffered with fumbles thus far this season, but he has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks. Edwards-Helaire, like the rest of the Chiefs offense, struggled to get much going against the Buffalo Bills.
To begin the third quarter, Edwards-Helaire sustained an unfortunate injury. CEH was brought to the locker room with an apparent knee injury after a long intermission due to the lightning delay.
CEH needed assistance from his teammates to get off the field. He couldn’t put any weight on his leg at the time, making it appear that the injury was more serious than a simple cramp following an extended layoff.
Kansas City Chiefs: The team’s dreadful start to the season continues.
Despite a win over the Eagles last week, the Chiefs are still a long way behind. Kansas City’s defense has been destroyed against a good Bills club, and the offense lead by Patrick Mahomes has failed to get going.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire has a backup.
Expect Darrel Williams to get the majority of the carries in the Chiefs offense with Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the sideline for the game.
However, before racing to the keyboard, fantasy football owners should wait for an official announcement on CEH’s status moving forward.
