Britney Spears has two sons who are rarely seen with their celebrity mother in public. Here’s everything you need to know about the pop star’s sons.
Britney Spears’ life has recently been a rollercoaster. The 39-year-old singer just announced that she and her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari, are engaged.
Brit has struggled the most during her continuing conservatorship legal battle, in which she is attempting to have her father Jamie Spears removed as conservator of her estate.
Britney has appeared to be spending the majority of her time away from her two sons, Sean Preston Federline, 16, and Jayden James Federline, 15, during this period.
Britney has two children with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 42, and their custody battle — which was detailed in the documentary Framing Britney Spears — has been extremely complicated.
Although Britney published a photo of her two sons in March 2020 and stated why she keeps them off her social media pages, the boys are rarely seen with their mother. Britney wrote on Instagram, “I haven’t uploaded images of them in a while because they’re at the age where they want to express their own personalities and I absolutely get it.”
Everything you need to know about Britney Spears’ two children is right here.
Sean Preston Federline
On September 14, 2005, Britney gave birth to her first child, son Sean Preston, a year after she married Kevin. Britney was spotted driving with her son on her lap instead of a car set when he was 5 months old, prompting her to get a lot of wrath from the public.
When Britney had her breakdown in January 2007, Sean and his younger brother Jayden were both under the age of two. Britney lost custody of her children to Kevin nine months later, after the singer and Kevin had divorced in November 2006.
Britney and Kevin split custody of their sons 50/50 when a conservatorship was established for her in 2008. However, in 2019, the arrangement was altered to 70/30, with Sean and Jayden spending more time with their father.
Jayden James Federline
On September 12, 2006, Britney and Kevin had their second child, son Jayden James. Britney filed for divorce from Kevin two months later, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was formalized in July 2007, and, as previously stated, Jayden and his older brother Sean were initially split 50/50 between their parents until their father gained majority custody in 2019.
Jayden and Sean have been quietly living with their father for the past few years, with just sporadic visits from their mother. However, Jayden made waves on March 3, 2020, when he recorded an Instagram live video discussing his mother’s personal life, his grandfather Jamie, and Brit’s boyfriend Sam. Jayden referred to Jamie as a “jerk” and a “very huge d*ck.” “He can go die,” he remarked of his grandfather.
“I like Sam,” Britney’s youngest son said of Sam. He’s a good guy. He’s a good guy. He’s a fantastic guy.” He then went into detail about his mother’s career as a singer. “Actually, I haven’t seen her perform much music.” I don’t believe that…
“I dunno, dude,” Jayden said. “I have no idea.” ‘Mom, what happened to your music?’ I recall asking her one time. ‘I don’t know, honey,’ she replied. I’m thinking of quitting.’ ‘What?’ I think to myself. So, what exactly are you saying? Do you have any idea how much money you make off of that?’
Britney has spent very little time with Sean and Jayden in the last ten years. Britney accompanied her then-young sons to the 2013 Smurfs 2 red carpet premiere in Los Angeles, which was the last time fans saw the three out in public.
Brit’s most recent Instagram post was in March 2021, and it was about her sons. Her last public appearance was in February, when she was seen hiking with her children. Britney shared a snapshot of Sean and Jayden during their outside adventure, and they looked so grown up.
