When Joe Amabile’s ex, Kendall Long, appeared on this week’s episode of ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ all eyes were on him, just as his new relationship with Serena Pitt was heating up.
On the September 6 episode of Bachelor in Paradise, Kendall Long and Joe Amabile reconciled when she landed in Mexico. The ex-couples met in season 5 of the program and dated for over a year before parting in January 2020. Joe returned to Paradise this season in search of love, and owing to a passionate new affair with Serena Pitt, he was well on his way. Kendall, on the other hand, had a different plan.
Kendall revealed in a confessional, “We still loved each other when we broke up, and I feel like this is the final opportunity I can have a chat with him and find out what we’re really meant to be before Joe finds someone else.” “I still care about Joe, and I hope he still cares about me.” Kendall took Joe aside right away when he arrived for a chat.
She began by informing him that she was doing “okay,” but not terrific, and that she was taken aback by how well he was doing. Joe admitted to Kendall that during the first few hours in Paradise, he almost departed since being on the beach brought back so many memories of how he met her. “We were truly in love, and it hasn’t been easy for me,” he explained.
Kendall told Joe, “It’s difficult for me not to have you in my life.” “I want you to be a part of my life. You’re a special part of my life, and I want you to continue to be a part of it in some way. It’s difficult not to have that. You try to move on, but something doesn’t feel quite right.
It’s difficult.” Kendall and Joe split up because they couldn’t agree on where they wanted to live, which she claims made the breakup more difficult for her. “We broke up because of logistics, not because we didn’t love each other,” she explained. “That is what I find tough. Something isn’t quite finished.”
Serena, on the other hand, had to sit only a few feet away and watch it all unfold. She started crying as she expressed her feelings about it. “Everyone has exes, which is perfectly normal,” she explained, “but you rarely have to explore a relationship with someone while their ex is only ten feet away.” “I don’t want this to get into Joe’s head and derail a promising project we’re working on. It’s simply a lot.”
Joe told Kendall about his relationship with Serena and expressed his admiration for her. After that, the topic of conversation shifted to the split. Joe expressed his disappointment with Kendall for not at least attempting to live in Chicago as he desired.
She argued, though, that she knew she’d never be able to settle down there, so she didn’t see the purpose. Kendall explained, “I didn’t change my mind [about wanting to relocate there], and I suppose you were expecting that I would.”
Joe remarked, “Your whole problem was that you didn’t want to relocate anyplace for a man.” “At that time, I should have been more than simply a’man.’ It was something we could have done.” He also informed Kendall that he “loved” where he was with Serena but wasn’t sure where it would lead just yet.
”I don’t know if I still love Kendall,” he stated in a confessional. I don’t want to chuck away anything I’m working on with Serena. That’s heading in a good direction. It’s a muddle. In this situation, I am at a loss for words. This is going to be a problem since I’m confused now.”
Following that, Joe took Serena aside to explain what was going on. He explained, “She started it off like she was coming back here for me.” “However, she concluded by saying she wants closure so we can be friends and she can date here. So there’s clearly still some type of misunderstanding between her and myself about why she’s here, because it sounded like both.”
“I’m guessing we’re going to have more talks that I’m going to have to have,” he continued. It’s going to be strange. I’m not sure what to say to you. I told myself before I started this encounter that I was done with her. But, now that I’m back here with her, I don’t want to deceive you if I’m not. I also don’t want this to jeopardize your chances here if things get too tangled and you get uncomfortable.”
Serena was worried when she heard it, but Joe reassured her that he was 100% committed to their relationship. “I have no idea what will happen,” he admitted. “It’ll be strange, but you’re my first priority right now.
I adore you, and I’m excited to see where this goes.” Serena double-checked with Joe to make sure he was completely over Kendall, and he said he was. She also urged him to be entirely honest with her if that changed at any point during the process, and they decided to continue exploring their connection.
She was, however, still nervous and upset about the situation. While wiping away tears in a confessional, she stated, “I feel so vulnerable to getting harmed now.” “I don’t think I’ll be able to walk away. As a result, he now has the ball in his hands. That’s terrifying.”
