The nasty divorce between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has spread to the south of France. The two are now at odds over Château Miraval, a French winery that they both own.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce has just gotten more complicated. The two are currently feuding over Château Miraval, a $164 million vineyard in France that they both own.
On September 21, Brad, 57, filed a complaint in Luxembourg accusing Angelina, 46, of attempting to shut him out of a future sale as she tries to sell her interests. (The two are equal stockholders, each owning 50% of the company.) Angelina Jolie’s attempt to sell her share might result in a large profit at Brad’s expense, according to court documents obtained by HollywoodLife.
Angelina and Brad’s representatives have been contacted for comment by HL. The lawsuit claims that Angelina Jolie’s company, Nouvel, has not acted in the “best interests” of Quimicum, the company that owns Château Miraval. “It is worth noting that, for the past four years, Nouvel has failed to work in Quimicum’s best interests by consistently delaying the approval of the annual accounts and the renewal of the manager,” the suit continued, accusing the actress of “systematic obstruction.”
Angelina Jolie’s activities have been described as “consistently vengeful” and “another example of this individual trying to evade the rules,” according to a source close to the case. “This is pretty consistent with this person’s conduct and is why, in the recent ruling of the custody case, she was declared ‘not credible’ based on the testimony of several specialists, medical professionals, therapists, and those who know her best,” the insider told HL.
Another source claimed that Brad “done all the work” on Miraval and that the actress’ actions were a breach of contract. The latest development comes after the two have been fighting for sole custody of their children Maddox, 20, Zahara, 16, Pax, 17, Shiloh, 15, Vivienne, 13, and Knox, 13, for quite some time. Angelina has been seeking to overturn the judgment that they share joint custody.
After more than a decade together, Angelina filed for divorce from Brad in 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. Angelina Jolie opened up about her divorce in a June interview with Vogue India, revealing that she made the decision for the “wellbeing” of her children. She stated, “It was the right decision.” “I’m still concentrating on their recovery.
Some have taken advantage of my quiet, and the children have been exposed to lies about themselves in the media, but I tell them that they are the only ones who know their own truths and minds. They are, in reality, six really brave and strong young people.”
