WWE fires champ after rape accusation

Enzo Amore’s WWE suspension lasted at some point.

Amore, who was accused of rape, was suspended Monday and outright fired Tuesday by the wrestling firm.

A girl whose Twitter deal with is @MissGucciWitch took to the social media platform Monday to disclose her accusations that Enzo Amore, whose actual title is Eric Arndt, raped her in October, whereas two of his pals let it occur.

“WWE has zero tolerance for issues involving sexual harassment or sexual assault,” the corporate stated in an announcement Monday.

Arndt addressed the allegation for the primary time on Tuesday, referring to his accuser by title.

“During the last two days, Philomena Sheahan has made a number of public accusations towards Eric Arndt … together with allegations of sexual misconduct regarding an October 2017 incident in Phoenix,” Arndt stated in an announcement via his legal professional, Timothy J. Eckstein. “Mr. Arndt absolutely and unequivocally denies these accusations. He’s cooperating with the authorities on this matter and appears ahead to having it resolved in a well timed method.

“Neither Mr. Arndt nor his counsel can be making any additional public feedback on this matter.”

Phoenix police are investigating the incident, which they advised ABC’s native affiliate occurred Oct. 19 on the Clarendon Lodge and Spa.

Arndt was scheduled to defend his Cruiserweight title towards Cedric Alexander on the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Sunday at Wells Fargo Heart in Philadelphia.

Arndt is a Hackensack, N.J., native who grew up in Waldwick.
