CHICAGO — The lawyer for a person dragged off a United flight says the airline and Chicago officers have agreed to protect proof of the incident.
Legal professional Thomas Demetrio stated Saturday that the settlement means a courtroom listening to scheduled subsequent week isn’t happening.
A lawsuit has not been filed, however Demetrio has indicated one is forthcoming.
He represents Dr. David Dao, a 69-year-old passenger who didn’t need to quit his seat final week on a flight from O’Hare Worldwide Airport. Demetrio has stated Dao misplaced tooth, suffered a concussion and a damaged nostril as airport police employed by Chicago eliminated him.
Video of the incident went viral.
United has apologized and promised to overview passenger-removal insurance policies. An airline spokeswoman declined remark Saturday due to pending litigation.
A metropolis spokesman didn’t instantly return a message.
