Mavericks honor Dirk Nowitzki with spoof film, ‘The 40-year-old German’

Dirk Nowitzki turned 40 throughout the offseason. And he’s German.

Those two utterly unrelated info led someone on the Mavericks PR staff with absolutely an extreme period of time on their fingers to create a spoof film starring Nowitzki as “The 40-Year-Old-German.”

With apologies to Steve Carrell and the strong of the 2005 hit comedy “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” Nowitzki and teammates Luka Doncic, Dennis Smith Jr. and J.J. Barea do their best to take care of a straight face whereas recreating scenes from the movie.

The group launched the transient video Sunday in the middle of the Mavs sport in opposition to the Thunder.

While he is not the strain he was in his prime — what athlete is at age 40? — Nowitzki reached but yet one more occupation milestone ultimate week when he turned the sixth NBA participant with 900 occupation wins.

Take that, Steve Carrell.
