The bromance between Kanye West and Elon Musk just shifted into high gear.
The superstar rapper took to Twitter Sunday night to gush about his Tesla, calling his Model S with a custom matte silver finish “the funnest car I’ve ever driven.”
“I really love my Tesla. I’m in the future. Thank you Elon,” the Grammy-winner wrote.
The rapper added that he felt “super chaaaaaarged,” driving his Tesla and was “Bout to take this whole thing to Mars.”
West’s Earth Day tweets likewise noted how eco-friendly Teslas are compared to gas-guzzling cars.
It’s not the first time there’s been a public display of affection between West and the billionaire Musk, who is Tesla’s CEO.
In 2015, Musk wrote the blurb for West’s inclusion into the Time 100, saying that “the dude doesn’t believe in false modesty, and he shouldn’t.”
“Kanye’s been playing the long game all along,” Musk opined, “and we’re only just beginning to see why.”
Tesla shares were down 1.2 percent Monday morning after popping as much as 5 percent in premarket trades.
West reactivated his Twitter account on April 13 after a year-long hiatus, and has since unleashed a storm of platitudes and philosophical observations.
“Oh by the way this is my book that I’m writing in real time,” he explained in a tweet last week. “No publisher or publicist will tell me what to put where or how many pages to write. This is not a financial opportunity this is an innate need to be expressive.”
