Former California Politician Charged With Killing His Wife in an Assisted Suicide

Steven Clute, a former member of the California Meeting, was charged with helping the suicide of his spouse, Pamela Clute. Pamela Clute died from a gun shot wound on August 21, 2016 at their residence. Her husband acknowledged that the suicide was associated to her extreme ache.

In response to the Related Press article:

Steve Clute, 69, a former Navy pilot who served as a Democrat within the state Meeting from 1982 to 1992, allegedly gave her the handgun she used to take her life, John Corridor, spokesman for the Riverside district legal professional, mentioned Monday.

The Clute assisted suicide trial could check the bounds of the California assisted suicide regulation.

The Related Press article acknowledged that Steve Clute was not current on the time of his spouse’s demise. Even when that is true, in response to the regulation, it doesn’t matter.

The California Penal Code 401 – Aiding, Advising or Encouraging a Suicide states that it’s a crime to: advise or encourage somebody to commit suicide.
