Contemptible criticism of Cardinal Burke | Letters to the editor

Over time I’ve seen many calumnies directed towards our former St. Louis archbishop, Cardinal Raymond L. Burke. However Kevin Horrigan’s feedback tainting him with the odious whiff of racism characterize an unenviable first (“Upending ‘custom,’ ” Feb. 12).

Two phrases will suffice to explain Horrigan’s try, utilizing a fragile chain of guilt-by-association innuendos, to affiliate this humble shepherd of souls and different liturgically conventional Catholics with white supremacist ideology: unfounded and contemptible.
